Key features of the course

  • Understanding how to design and create 2D games
  • Be able to create 2D games for a variety of different purposes
  • Understand and use instructions to give actions to games
  • Draw and create art for Computer Games
  • Plan and create 2D animations to be used in media products
  • Create 3D environments using techniques to create realistic scenes for games
  • Create products for a media brief

This course is for students that have not studied GCSE Computing but would still like to learn and gain skills in digital media and game design. This course covered 2D game design.

We also offer Computer Science at sixth form for students that have studied GCSE Computer Science. The Computer Science course also includes Games design but includes 3D design and coding.

What type of student is this
course suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone that has an interest in the creation of 2D games. A suitable student should have the ability to imagine original ideas that can be converted to game solutions. The ability to create ideas that match a proposal or requirement.

This compliments other subjects such as Computer Science , Media, Art
